Mocha coffee definition

A rich pungent Arabian coffee. English dictionary definition of mocha coffee. This drink is made with espresso beans, which refers more to the style of roast than the actual flavor of the coffee. Like a caffe latte, it is typically one third espresso and two thirds steamed milk, but a portion of chocolate is adde typically in the form of sweet cocoa.


A third variant on the caffè mocha is to use a coffee base instead of espresso. The combination would then be coffee , steamed milk, and the added chocolate.

This is the same as a cup of coffee mixed with hot chocolate. The caffeine content of this variation would then be equivalent to the coffee choice included. Some places will add hot chocolate to the drink, others will add a chocolate syrup. A mocha latte is the common preparation. Its production and shipment to other parts of the world was recorded as early as the 17th century.


But to most people, “cafe mocha ” or the “ mocha ” flavor in coffee refers to the added chocolate in traditional coffee. Moka coffee is the drink made in a Moka pot. A Moka pot is a fairly large vessel, looking much like a pitcher.


It’s made out of metal, and it makes a sort of mock-espresso type coffee.

This makes mocha , perhaps, an inaccurate name of such coffees, as it would be less confusing, and more accurate, to called them Yemen coffee beans. This coffee drink combines espresso with hot milk and chocolate and is a variant of the latte.
