My job is not giving me hours

I am still able to use my discount car etc. Is there anything i can do legally against this company? Thanks for your help.

For example, making yourself available only hours a day, 3. As long as they are not discriminating against you or cutting your hours because you are in a protected class, there is little you can do.

Everyone is a member of at least four protected classes: Sex, Race, Nationality and Religion. Other protections like Age, Sexual Orientation, etc come into play through state and local laws. You should also know that the law protects you if your employer decides to retaliate against you by firing you or otherwise discriminating against you after you have alerted your employer to your desire to have a lunch break and be reimbursed for lunch breaks you have not been given. Can I sue my employer for not giving me hours? What to do when a manager says he or she is not giving you work?

What does not assigning work from your manager mean? Your development is your responsibility now.

Lunchtime: leave your desk and get your lunch and eat, call your wife or girlfriend or mom or dad or cousin or sister or brother then and only then. File for unemployment. Your job is not giving you hours so you are now underemployed. You don’t know if one of your fellow employees has been sucking up to the new manager and has been the recipient of more hours, possibly those which should have been yours.

Perhaps it is time to dust off your resume and start looking for other opportunities. There is an old expression that goes ‘you can read the writing on the wall. They will give you less and less hours until you finally have had enough and go elsewhere. Might be time to look for a new job , someone will be able to make better use of your work ethic. Perhaps your hours were dropped because they can no longer afford to pay you for 20.

Include all prep time, cleanup time, travel to and from job sites, and all breaks less than minutes. Note the rate of pay you were promise and whether you worked over hours in a week. Department of Labor has a work hours calendar you can use, or create your own. Consider asking your boss, or a co-worker, to initial your entries.

This ultimately gave me the confidence I needed to accept an offer—and I ended up loving the job. It turns out that even though I was a lousy cold caller, I was a pretty great recruiter.

This job led to a fulfilling and rewarding career and enabled me to work my way up to managing my own recruiting and HR department. If you need to leave, just walk out the door and don’t look back. Do not be disruptive or rude, just resign and pack up your things.

Take a two week break for yourself, then start your new job. My dad went on to say that he’d never seen an employer decide not to lay someone off because that person needed the job. And to this day, I haven’t either (and I work in HR). There is a rule about getting paid for at least hours when you work.

This rule applies only if you have regular work hours that are longer than hours a day. The hours could be all in a row or could be worked in a split shift. I left without giving any notice (which is a story for another time) and dedicated my time to finding a job with an honest, transparent organization.

Within a couple of weeks, a family friend reached out to me about an entry-level recruiter opportunity at her company. For true advice, we would require a confidential consultation where I would ask you questions and get your complete story. This is a public forum, so remember, nothing here is confidential. Nor am I your attorney. I do not know who you are and you have not hired me to provide any legal service.

As of November they closed stores in our area and our district manager is cutting my hours. Last week she gave me hours and now this week she is only giving me 12. If you talk to your employer, write down the day and time that you spoke.

Keep a list of what you talked about and what your employer said they would do. You can also send the letter by registered mail so that you have proof that you sent it. If you write to your employer, keep a copy of it.

One time I was giving a blow job and the guy kept assuring me he was close so I kept going, even though it was.
