Library notary

You will need to bring the unsigned document, any involved people, and their photo IDs. Does the library notarize documents? Where to find notary public services? In pursuance of Governor Ned Lamont’s March 30th Executive Order No.


Witnesses must accompany the person who document is.

The purpose of notarization is to prevent fraud and forgery. New Jersey, Department of the Treasury. This service is usually offered Monday-Saturday during normal library business hours. Notary cannot act as a witness.


While we strive to provide notary service at all times, we do not guarantee notary availability. Our available notary can notarize most documents. If you need more than one witness, we recommend calling ahead to confirm staff is available.


A notary is typically present from 10am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

Provide your own witnesses according to your document’s needs. Our notaries do not notarize I-forms. Contact your branch for more information.

How It Works All full-time employees at branches offering notary services are trained notaries public and can witness the signing of legal documents such as wills, deeds or powers of attorney.
